Women’s Player of the Week
Cassie King-North Carolina Central University, 6’0”, SO, Forward, Wendell, NC
King averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals as the Lady Eagles notched wins over Livingstone and non-conference opponent Converse College of Spartanburg, South Carolina. In the Lady Eagles’ 71-32 victory over the Converse All-Stars, King scored 25 points and added 12 rebounds to record her eighth double-double of the season.

Rookie of the Week
Celeste Trahan-Elizabeth City State University, 6’2”, FR, Center, Stockton, CA

Trahan continues to cement her place as the conference’s top rookie. In three games this week, the 6’2” center averaged veteran numbers of 16.3 points, 14.3 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.3 blocked shots. In a one point loss at Fayetteville State, Trahan scored 26 points and had 19 boards to lead the Lady Vikings.

Coach of the Week
Vanessa Taylor-Johnson C. Smith University

After going 3-0 this week, Coach Taylor and the Golden Bulls are 15-2 and off to their best start since the 2000-01 season.
