Women’s Player of the Week
Celeste Trahan-Elizabeth City State University, 6’2”, FR, Center, Stockton, CA
Trahan, who leads the nation in rebounding, continued her stellar play this week by averaging 28.6 points, 20.3 rebounds and 3.6 steals as the Lady Vikings went 2-1 this week. Trahan posted career highs of 33 points and 24 rebounds to lead the Lady Vikings in a loss against nationally ranked Shaw, who came into the game ranked 3rd in the latest NCAA Division II poll. Trahan also had 31 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Bowie State and 22 points and 21 rebounds in a non-conference win over Columbia Union.

Rookie of the Week
Karla Gamble-North Carolina Central University, 5’6”, FR, Guard, Albion, MI

Gamble scored a season high 20 points and added five steals and three rebounds in the Lady Eagles’ 76-71 double overtime win over Winston-Salem State.

Coach of the Week
Joli Robinson-North Carolina Central University

With big Western Division wins over Johnson C. Smith and Winston-Salem State this week, the Lady Eagles extended their winning streak to six games.
