CIAA Women’s Basketball Players of the Week

Women’s Player of the Week
Allyson Hardy-Bowie State University, 5’6”, SR, Guard, Germantown, MD
Hardy averaged 25.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals as the Bulldogs went 2-0 this week. In a 90-68 win over Virginia State, Hardy poured in a game-high 33 points and added four assists and three steals to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

Rookie of the Week
Celeste Trahan-Elizabeth City State University, 6’2”, FR, Center, Stockton, CA

In two games this week, Trahan averaged 12.5 points and 16 rebounds as the Lady Vikings picked up wins over North Carolina Central and Virginia State. In a 75-57 win over NCCU, Trahan had 18 points, 22 rebounds, five steals and three assists to lead the Lady Vikings.

Coach of the Week
Jacques Curtis-Shaw University

Coach Curtis and the lady Bears wrapped up their third straight Eastern Division title this week. With wins over Johnson C. Smith and Virginia Union, Shaw improves to 25-1, 15-0 and has won 51 consecutive games over CIAA opponents. The Lady Bears also moved up to number two in this week’s Division II poll, Shaw’s highest ranking ever.
